Our free Hours Calculator computes your total working hours, regular hours, overtime hours, and pay from your clock-in and clock-out times. It subtracts break time and calculates regular and overtime pay based on your hourly rate and overtime multiplier.

How Work Hours & Pay Are Calculated
Total Hours = (Clock Out − Clock In) − Break Time
Regular Pay = min(Total Hours, Regular Hrs Threshold) × Hourly Rate
Overtime Pay = max(0, Total Hours − Regular Hrs) × Hourly Rate × OT Multiplier
Example: Clock in 8:00 AM, clock out 6:30 PM, 30-minute break, $25/hr, 8-hour threshold, 1.5x overtime:
| Total Hours Worked | 10 hours (10.5 hrs minus 0.5 hr break) |
| Regular Hours | 8.00 hours × $25 = $200.00 |
| Overtime Hours | 2.00 hours × $25 × 1.5 = $75.00 |
